Staff Sergeant Douglas A. Rix, 1st Infantry Division, died of multiple fragmentation wounds on February 28, 1967, in Tay Nihn, Republic of South Vietnam. His body was recovered. SSG Rix’s name is on the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C., panel 15E, line 121.
This memorial was directed by the California Assembly’s Concurrent Resolution 43, Chapter 220, in 1971.
