Antelope Canyon - A geologic wonder just as interesting and beautiful as the much larger Grand Canyon.

This slot canyon is nothing like the Grand Canyon. It is all sandstone, carved out by flood waters from the Colorado River and Lake Powell. This canyon is very narrow and at some spots, you can touch each side by extending your arms.

Antelope Canyon is managed by the Navajo and the guided tours are the best way to really get to know this area. Be prepared to spend a bit more for this, but it is worth it! The guided tours start in downtown Page, then they take you out to the canyon - about a 25 minute ride. It can get bouncy! The entire tour out and back is about 2 hours. There are several tour services to choose from in town as well as close by the canyon, off the highway. The parking coordinates are just one of the spots you may take the tour from. The others are in town.
To receive credit, please post a photo of the canyon at the entrance point and another inside. Yourself in the photo is a plus, but not required.
