We start the beautiful trip (2×6 km; 4-5 hrs) in free parking at Col de Tentes (2200 m altitude; starting coordinates). Short, for cars closed road will lead us in SW direction to gap Port de Bucharo / Bujaruelo (Picture location 1; 2270 m altitude).
After short rest here and perfect vistas we will continue to left (eastwards) on northern hillside of Peak of Le Taillon. This part of the trail is ca 2 km long and you will cross several snow fields and alpine creeks (in end of July still lot of snow). Picture location [2] is close to end of this part of trail, where the steepest and most dificult part of hike awaits you.
The last part of the trail is ascent to the Refuge des Sarradets (picture location 3; altitude 2600 m), mostly crossing iced-snowfields on very steep hillside, among numerous creeks and deep holes in surrounding snowfields. But vistas are stunning and landscape around you is really magnificent... You are in the end of the trail (of course, you will use the same trail for return to the car...), at Refuge des Sarradets, where you can buy refreshment and use it as shelter if the weather looks dangerous.
