The Genesee Valley Gorge is a beautiful and wonderful spot to visit. There are several ways down to the gorge, but this sign is at the trailhead of one of the more scenic ways down.

This historic trail was used by native Americans for thousands of years. Pioneer settlers expanded the trail and founded Carthage here in 1817.
