This is one of three reconditioned gates for entering the trails at
Appleton Farms. The other gates are the Wilson Field Gate and the Goodhue Gate. This gate is on Waldingfield Road, just west of the RR overpass. The trail beyond the gate is the Prince of Wales allée leading south past the
Fourth Pinnacle to the
New House site.
There is a small sign attached to the left side of the gate. It reads:
Construction and installation
of this gate is a 2002
community service project
of the Hamilton-Wenham
and Ipswich Rotary Clubs
Please do not enter the Farms here. There is no place to park, and you should drive about 1/3 mile east and enter at the
Waldingfield Road visitor parking area. You can also pick up a trail map there.
There are many more waymarks on the Farms property. See the "Nearest Waymarks" link near the bottom of this page. There are also at least four geocaches. Enjoy the Farms. Its a great place to visit.
