Mostly unknown but to the local neighborhood residents, this narrow public passageway connects the mostly-deserted Viale Vaticano, which is on the perimeter of Vatican City, with the residential area below.
Currently its use is by local residents that cannot find parking below, and thus resort to park in the Viale Vaticano area above the steps instead, where there is plenty of parking space available.
