This Triangulation Pillar is situated on a bank above a quiet country lane (Beacons Lane), just outside the village of Pelynt. There are a couple of gateways close by that you can stop in.
The trigpoint is 155.7 metres above mean sea level & was last verified in 1952.
The pillar is in sound condition, but a little overgrown.
About 100m south west of the pillar, on the other side of the road, are the remains of a Royal Observer Corps underground post (ROC Polperro). The role of these posts was to report on nuclear blasts & monitor radioactive fallout! The bunker was closed down in 1968.
Type of Trigpoint: Triangulation Pillar
