Dallam County had three (3) courthouses, in 1876 courthouse was in Texline, 1903 and present 1922 courthouse Dalhart.
The county government outgrew the 1903 courthouse and, in 1922 voters approved bonds for a new courthouse. Designed by Smith and Townes, the classical revival structure was completed in 1923. Built with brick, with cast stone detailing, the courthouse continues to serve the dallam County citizens.
