Built in 1976, this is Korea's only Islamic Mosque. It is on a hill in the Itaewon district, infamous for its nightlife for foreigners in Seoul, including many U.S. servicemen, and now an increasing number of people from the Mideast and Africa.

Seoul Central Mosque consists of offices, classrooms, a boardroom, and a conference hall. The first and second floors have lodgings, where foreign laborers who cannot come to the mosque for prayers during weekdays, can stay over.
There is a separate building for the Prince Sultan Islamic School. The mosque, with its twin minarets, claims a spectacular view over the southern part of the city. Elaborate blue and white tile adorn the entrance off a side street at the top of the hill.
