Vermont may be known for maple syrup, but first and foremost, it's a dairy state

The food and exhibits are on the village green, rides are behind the elementary school, but the most unique event is right on Main Street. A cow is turned loose to wander around in an enclosed area in which numbered squares have been painted on the pavement. Whoever holds the number she lays a pile on is the winner.
The Vermont Dairy Festival is sponsored by the local Lions Club on the first weekend in June. 2009 was the 53rd year for this event.
