Norfolk Island is located in the south-west Pacific Ocean, approximately 1700 km east of Sydney and 1100 kilometres north-west of Auckland. Norfolk Island National Park covers 650 hectares, divided between the Mount Pitt Section on Norfolk Island and the entire neighbouring Phillip Island.

Norfolk Island National Park welcomes visitors to explore its stunning scenery and rich diversity of bird life. From bushwalks beneath the planet's tallest tree ferns to barbecues overlooking spectacular ocean cliffs, there is something for everyone.

As well as protecting rare native species such as the endangered green parrot and Norfolk pine, the park is a major drawcard for visitors, and makes a significant contribution to the island's tourism industry.

Norfolk Island National Park is open all year round.
Park Headquarters and Visitor Centre are open 8.15 am - 4.30 pm Monday to Friday. Closed on public holidays.
There are no entry fees into the Park.

The walking tracks in the Mount Pitt Section of the park can be entered any time after parking either on Mount Pitt Road, Selwyn Pine Road or J.E. Road.

The Captain Cook Monument and associated walking tracks can be accessed via Duncombe Bay Road at any time. Fabulous sea and sunset views from here.

The given co-ords are at a unique National Park sign on the way to Cooks Monument. The sign features the fascinating Norfolk language - a mixture of 18th century English and ancient Tahitian.
