This is a small two lane bridge over Rincom Creek on Hicks Road in San Jose, CA.

This bridge is on Hicks Road about 5 miles from Camden Avenue. It located slightly upstream of where of
Rincom Creek meets with Guadalupe Creek.

This is the view approaching the bridge coming from Camden Avenue.

Bridge Wall
The bridge has been painted white or whitewashed.
Either the concrete or the whitewash appears to be flaking on the surface.
Note the flaking condition of the bridge side Wall.

I found the clear date of 1940 on a the vertical posts at the end of the bridge.

WPA & 1940
The letters "WPA" and the date of 1940 is visible on the horizontal bridge wall.
I sprinkled some dirt into the recessed letters and swept away the excess with a brush to make the letters and dates stand out in a photo.

There also appears to be a benchmark on the horizontal surface of the extended bridge wall.

It has been whitewashed over so many times that the surface of the benchmark is not even visible.
