While in town for GeoWoodStock VII, wandered over to this public park - and overheard the statue creator Russ Faxon talking about the monument. Learned more of the story about Ward Anderson, a 2-year-old, who died following an accident at Tims Ford Lake during summer 2005 and was well-known in the small town of Bell Buckle, TN. Per a Shelbyville Times-Gazette article in October 2005, park board chairman Jenny Hunt said: "The handprints we left behind will be a sign of this day that has made a dream turn into a reality. The people of this community and those that embrace it are absolutely hands-down the best. They're the people that abide the spirit of what is good and right." (See also

The prints are of the hands of Bell Buckle citizens, children and Webb School students. Also saw at least one paw print in the concrete base.
