From the churchs web site -
The growth and development of the church were directly affected by the coming of the railroad in 1850 and the completion of Interstate Highway 20 in 1964.
In 1880 the church moved to its present site on Main Street. Additions to the church building were made in 1958 when new educational facilities were built, in 1980 when these were expanded for office and classrooms and in 1990 when a new gym/kitchen/fellowship hall and additional educational space was added.
CPC has an extensive ministry to the community through Boy Scouts, Clothes Closet, Emergency Fund and Food Bank. Additional programs have involved Habitat for Humanity houses, partial support for missionaries, and providing meals for people in night shelters.
