This waterfall is located in a cave underneath Lookout Mountain which straddles the border between Tennessee and Georgia on the south side of Chattanooga.
There is a fee to access the falls. Once there you take an elevator ride down about 160 ft to the cave. A guide will take you thru the cave to the falls, pointing out various features along the way. The falls themselves are in a cavern that stands about 150 ft high and come out of a hole in the rock to pour down into a pool. The falls themselves are listed as being 145 ft high. The cave is lit for effect and a good camera shot is hard to get without a good flash.
The best time of year for the falls would seem to be in spring when heavy rain and runoff seep into the mountain and cause the flow to increase. The pool at the bottom drains out thru the cave and ends up in the Tennessee River.
The cost for the tour is about $15 and it lasts for about an hour. The website for the falls is (
