Lost Creek Reservoir is one of those places where only the locals know of. There is but only one dirt road to access the area and this is subject to the time of year because of snow during the winter. The reservoir sits down in a steep valley that is covered with pines and thick brush. Fishing can be great but a small, easily transportable boat is needed for accessing the majority of the water. The boat ramp is nothing more than a dent in the dirt road.
You will have to search to find this reservoir on the map. Even more searching to find the road to it because there are few road signs to give direction.
The bench mark is located approx. 100 yds below the dam. The release of water by the caretakers of the dam has created a stream with small trout that circle the shadows. As can be seen within the pictures, the disc sits just below a water tower. Greater effort will be placed in simply getting to the area by vehicle. However, once stopped, finding the marker is a relatively simple hike down to the stream from a side dirt road. In one image is a red circle to indicate location of the bench mark in relation to the tower.
This is a great place to bring a lunch, rod & reel, good hiking boots, insect repellent, fresh water (or the ability to treat your own from the stream), and have lots of time to explore the area with a vehicle that can handle bumpy dirt roads.
