The Fountain Avenue United Methodist Church congregation was organized in 1892 as a mission. The original church was built at 10th & Trimble Strs. In 1908, Fountain Avenue Methodist Episcopal Church, South was erected on Fountain Avenue at a cost of $35,000. During the Flood of 1937, the basement of the church was flooded. The Church was expanded in 1947. The church continues to serve its congregation.
