Courir de Mardi Gras is a traditional "run" of Mardi Gras where the Mardi Gras participants "run" or ride horseback throughout the country side or city, "begging" citizens for Ingredients to make a Gumbo. In times past they were given flour, sausage, onions, etc.. but more often now they are given money to purchase Ingredients.
