This car is part of the railroad car display at the Gaithersburg History Park and Museum. A 1942 Troop Kitchen Car built by the American Car and Foundry Company from near Chicago, it was originally built for food preparation during the transport of troops in World War II. Troop kitchen cars were usually equipped with two stoves, a water heater and food preparation equipment. This car later saw service on the Western Maryland Railroad as maintenance-of-way service car K-3008. The food service equipment is no longer on board.
