The Mount Carmel Fire Department operates in a 6.79 square mile area in North East Tennessee. We provide Fire Suppression, Fire Rescue, Public Education, and other similar services to the citizens and friends passing through our community. We currently have one station located on 211 Hammond Avenue. Our station houses not only the Fire Department, but also the Police Department and an EMS substation.

The Fire Department has in its fleet 1 75’ Tele Squirt, 2 Water Tenders for carrying water, 1 Pumper/Tanker, 2 Pumpers, and 1 service truck. Our department alone has approximately 5900 gallons of water on hand when it first arrives on a fire scene and the ability to shuttle 4500 gallons of water from hydrants located throughout the area. We have a pump capacity of approximately 4850 GPM. In addition to this, we have interlocal agreements with neighboring departments, which provide additional water and manpower. We have firefighters who are certified as Fire Fighter 1 and 2, Haz Mat Technicians, Vehicle Extrication Technicians, Arson Investigations, and other areas of expertise.

The Mount Carmel Fire Department also has an Explorer Fire Fighter Program, through Boy Scouts of America, in which young adults between the age of 14 and 21 receive experience in the field of fire fighting.

The Mount Carmel Fire Department is dedicated to providing a quality, highly trained professional department. When our neighbors and friends call on us for help, we will respond quickly and provide a professional and quality service. It trains every Monday Evening and several weekends through out the year. We are dedicated in not only saving lives and property, but in helping our community and friends when the need for our services is called on.

We are continually looking for ways in which we can improve and grow. We welcome any and all comments, suggestions, or questions. Feel free to stop by and visit our department and members any time. If you would like to set up a special tour for a group, please call and a date and time can be arranged. The number for the Mount Carmel Fire Department: 423-357-1013
