The inscription is simple:
In honor of those who served their country during World War II
Erected by the Gaithersburg Homemakers Club
This plaque can be found at the base of the flagpoles at Gaithersburg MD City Hall. The Homemakers Club was founded in 1932 and focused on crafts and household improvements. The club sometimes donated their crafts to local charities.
The memorial is a bronze plaque fastened to an upright granite stone.
