Probably the smallest zoo in the whole wide world!! It is set in around one acre of woodland which explains why it has dedicated itself to smaller species.

Despite its size, Shaldon zoo's conservation work is of international importance. By creating breeding colonoies of species which are threatened with extinction in the wild, the zoo has become something of an "ark" and works closely with other zoos with the long term aim of strengthening populations in the wild. It is also a great place to spend a couple of hours with the kids!
