Austin, Stephen F., Elementary School - U.S. National Register of Historic Places on Waymarking.com

One of the oldest surviving school buildings in Tarrant County, this was originally the Sixth Ward School. Local architects Messer, Sanguinet, and Messer designed the original building, constructed in 1892. It was renamed Stephen F. Austin Elementary School in 1904. In 1909, the building was expanded, maintaining the existing design despite contemporary trends. The school closed in 1977. Williamson-Dickie had the building converted to serve as headquarters, which it has since 1980.
