This attractive dovecote stands on top of a hill overlooking Wroxton Abbey.

The dovecote is also known as a folly and as Wroxton Castle. This is due to its design with battlements and a Gothic style.
This was built by Sanderson Miller, an architect who lived locally in the 18th Century and specialised in building follies. Others were at Hagley Hall and Wimpole Hall.
The Dovecote was completed in mid-18th Century and overlooks the Abbey and is built of sandstone and is about 35ft high.
There are slit windows and the stone is decorated with crosses. A large weather vane is an important feature on the top.
The plaque on the door reads:
'THE DOVECOTE
SANDERSON MILLER 1745.
RESTORED WITH THE HELP OF THE HISTORIC BUILDING COUNCIL, AND MANY LOCAL BENEFACTORS
1979'
