Zebulon is a smallish town of about 4,000 people and is located about 25 miles east of Raleigh. There are a number of town limit signs around Zebulon, but the main welcome sign is on Highway 96, just off of US 64.
Zebulon was founded in 1906 and incorporated in 1907. The city is named for Zebulon B. Vance, who was Governor of North Carolina during the Civil War. ("Vance" having already been used for Vance County, NC.)
Among Zebulon's claims to fame: This is the home of the Carolina Mudcats Minor League Baseball team. The town bills itself as the "Town of Friendly People" and celebrates its centennial in 2007.
