Located in Boones Creek, the new (1999) scout service center was named after Bruce and Mary.
The plaque reads:
"Your combined total of eighty-nine (89) years of accomplishments in Scouting is commendable.
Bruce's "60" years of awards include: Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow (vigil), Wood Badge, Scoutmaster "8" years, World Jamboree Scoutmaster, District-Commisioner - Sequoya Council, Chairman-Investment; Endowment; President; Silver Beaver Recipient. Region / National Recipient Silver Antelope and distinguished Eagle Scout Awards.
Mary's "29" years in scouting include:
Den Leader; Merit badge Counselor; Executive Board member; Silver Beaver Recipient.
Bruce and Mary together: James E. West 1910 Society and founders circle members. Parents of two Eagle Scout sons and one Eagle Scout grandson.

The Cunninghams also gave Appalachian Trail Conservancy a very large donation to seek matching donors. They both are very active hikers and trail maintainers with the Tennessee Eastman Hiking Club.
