The palace of the dukes in Zweibrücken is the greatest secular building in Palatinate. It is built in the baroque style with a nordic embossing. It is the former residence of the dukes of Zweibrücken.
After WWII it was completely destroyed (see photo). It was rebuilt beetween 1962 and 1964.
Since 1965 it is place of the Higher Regional Court of Palatinate and the public prosecution authority of zweibrücken.

The court has a staff of 90 people.
The area served by the courthouse includes the 4 county courts Frankenthal (Pfalz), Kaiserslautern, Landau in der Pfalz und Zweibrücken and their 15 local courts. In this area 1.421.000 people are living.
