This hospital was dedicated in 1997 to replace the old one at San Franciscol. It treats children with severe burns, brittle bone disease, and loss of function without charge to their families. (by application) .

It is just south of the UCDavis MC Their vans provide transportation for the many outpatient visits. Again, without charge.
It is supported by the Masonic fraternities. Includes a chapel, rooftop playground, covered parking (important when it is hot).
The dedication was visited by about 100 Shrine clowns.
The hospital is more than 7 floors. The parking lot four levels with many spaces marked for patients and or handicapped parking.
