The Wapack Trail name comes from the two end points - Mount Watatic in MA, and Pack Monadnock Mountain in NH. This is the northern end of the trail: Old Mountain Road in Greenfield, NH, at the Wapack National Wildlife Refuge on the flanks of North Pack Monadnock. Starting from this end, you would be heading due south, and first leg would haul you up the mountain, then across a ridge to Pack Monadnock, to Miller State Park, and the peak's fire tower. Then the downhill stretch would cross Route 101 at Temple Mountain Reservation, and head up Temple mountain. Dedicated trail parking is available at Route 101, so you could do this northern tip out-and-back - 10.8 miles total. No dedicated parking is available at the north end waypoint, and the road is narrow, but the NEFF maintains the Lincoln Davis Memorial Forest about a third of a mile west, with a small lay-by. Those coordinates are listed for parking.
