On the 10th street side of the courthouse lawn stand the monument and is companion, a Civil War cannon. The only text on the monument are the wars mentioned and their dates:

1961 - 1975There are stones that circle the entire courthouse lawn. A stone marking a war (i.e. Spanish American War: 1898) and followed by individual stones for each person who perished in that war. These stones circle the entire 6 blocks of sidewalk around this lawn.
Standing alone, on the front side (10th St.) of the court house is a single stone on a white marble platform. It reads:
