Oceanside, California, is the northernmost beach town in San Diego County. Not only does it attract beachgoers from a large area, but also provides services for the servicemembers, civilian employees, and their families, from the adjoining Camp Pendleton Marine Base. One landmark in Oceanside is the pedestrian pier seen here, with a restaurant on the far end. The flag is at the beach end of the pier. There is a loggable benchmark very nearby, and several geocaches.
The flag has a blue triangle at the hoist, with white silhouetted sailboats; the rest of the flag consists of the (oh so original!) "name on a bedsheet" design.
