In the late 1800s and early 1900s, Lakewood was the winter resort town of the rich and famous. Before the erection of the many guilded hotels of this fine age, bog iron and lumber industry led the way. Lake Carasaljo and the smaller Lake Manetta were created by the iron furnace that was here.
This single grave sits on top of a small hill overlooking Lake Manetta, on a corner plot surrounded by houses. A local history buff had told me of this grave many years ago, but had forgotten it's location until now.
There is no name set for this cemetery, just one grave and one stone.
The stone reads...
Henry Hoft
