This mural features the portrait of Frederick W. Schumacher, Philanthropist and Philosopher, of Columbus Ohio, who founded the Community in 1912. The theme of the Mural is a Christmas tree and children with Christmas Gifts. This represents the tradition of his providing gifts for every Child in the Community (to Grade 8) continuously since 1923 through a trust fund set up by the late Mr. Schumacher (1863 - 1957).

Ed. Spehar, a local artist, painted the mural. It is located on the south wall of the Arena of the McIntyre Community Building in Schumacher, now part of the City of Timmins, Northern Ontario, Canada. The co-ordinates are for the southwest corner of the parking lot where I took the photos.
(While in Schumacher, check out another mural "In The beginning", which is less than a km away - and is not as well known as this one).
