Established in 1864 and purchased by New York State in 1870, this is the oldest Fish Hatchery in New York State and the Western Hemisphere.

This fish hatchery was created by Seth Green, who is known as the father of fish culture. He pioneered the use of hatcheries to rear fish. The hatchery is run by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and according to their website, the hatchery rears brown trout and rainbow trout. Annual production is approximately 170,000 pounds.

Visiting hours are 8:00AM - 4:00PM and tours are available year round. 585-538-6300

It's Spring Creek offers fishing opportunities, including a special handicap-accessible fishing area.
