Once the main house to a large plantation, The LeJeune house is now situated just outside of downtown New Roads as the city has spread well past the home. Still occupies a LARGE tract of land (maybe about 2 acres) as compared to the homes in the area. The house is hidden well by trees so photographing is difficult.

Found a brief history from the Register application, located here

The LeJeune House is one of a number of substantial plantation houses which were built along False River. The house, therefore, is significant on the parish level. It is the finest and the largest historic residence in the town of New Roads. In addition, LeJeune House is an excellent example of an early to mid-19th century plantation house. This can be seen in its raised cottage form, its size, its plan, and its fine Greek Revival details. The paneling in the east parlor, with its pilasters and coffering effect, is particularly unusual and elaborate. Finally, the house is significant as a substantial example of "brick entre poteaux" construction.
