This commercial building, built in the Googie architecture style, only seems vacant. It's actually owned and used by a custom woodworking company as a work space. Customers are not serviced at this location. They are referenced using a telephone number that's pasted to the lower step.
Due to the misapprehension of vacancy, local scofflaws have taken to scrawling individual markings in spray paint over the building and destructive sorts have broken windows. The building's owners routinely repair destruction.
Parking in the building's gravel space does not allow a proper perspective for drawing the whole building. I opted to park across on the side and remain seated in my car.
The sketch was done on March 3, 2009 at 11:25AM (US Eastern), facing East.
