This large cemetery was established in 1866 and replaced the Old Burial Grounds in Meadville. A number of persons buried in the Old Burial Grounds were relocated here including two Revolutionary War Veterans. One of those veterans was General David Mead, the founder of Meadville. Two Medal of Honor recipients are also buried here.
