The Mausoleum Garden is surrounded by a wrought-iron fence and shaded by large oak and sassafras trees. The octagonal shaped mausoleum is constructed of rose colored granite with the copper roof. ?The mausoleum was designed by architect George I. Barnett. Henry Shaw is laid to rest beneath a white marble sculpture sculpted from 1883 to 1885 by German Ferdinand von Miller II. Shaw posed for this likeness shortly before his death.
