Let's get a Hickie Burger! No one within fifty miles would dispute the fact that Hicke's has the best! Small, fresh, slapped on the sizzling grill, served with slaw, bean soup, and fries with gravy.

There is row of booths, the stools at the counter, tables in the door, and the back room "Tiger's Den" (for the local high school teams), and it is always crowded. Orders are shouted back and forth as the waitresses squeeze past each other and customers. Then it's, "What'll ya have, Honey?" as the waitress slides squares of wax paper on the table. These will be the serving surface for your Hickie's.
Order several because they are small patties, always from fresh meat, fried with plenty of grease. The Yogi is the signature burger with a dab of cole slow on the burger. Fries, with or without gravy, corn bread, chile, and bean soup round out the menu.
If this is your first visit, tell them as you pay (cash only) and "Flo" will shout out, "Hey, everyone, we have a virgin here!"
For atmosphere and food, this is a "must visit" place, but you'll have to compete with the locals from the greater Portsmouth, Ohio, area for a spot, because we can't go too long without a Hickie Burger!
