Welcome to an old meetinghouse in the most unlikely of places, the Camden Business District. The meetinghouse and historical site consists of two structures, facing each other, about 40 feet apart. A black, metal fence surrounds the perimeter.

According to the sign, the meeting is still active on Sundays at 10:00 am.
"The Newton Friends (Camden) came directly from Ireland in 1681 (The historic sign out front says 1679) or thereabouts, but that building was erected in 1828 and rebuilt in 1888, by which time the Quakers (in Pennsylvania) had moved in the direction of more mainstream church architecture, and the Newton addition reflects a subdued Queen Anne Revival style in many of its details. If you block out the additions to the right and the left in [my] the photograph, the building looks similar to Seaville (see my waymark HERE), and particularly to another early brick meeting house in Upper Springfield Township, Burlington county, built in 1727."
