In the movie "Blue Velvet", Kyle MacLachlan's character, Jeffrey picks up Laura Dern's character, Sandy at her high school and asks her if she would like to grab a bite at Arlene's. Over a meal at Arlene's, Jeffrey talks Sandy into his plan on getting into Isabella Rossellini's character, Dorothy Vallens' apartment.
The building is located in the downtown Wilmington Historic District. It is now being used as a coffee shop.
