Freedom Communications Inc. owns the Orange County Register and the publications it produces: Excelsior, OC Post, Coast magazine and more. The OC Post was a "tabloid" format paper that was produced from August 21, 2006 to February 9, 2008.
Since 1985 the Orange County Register has won three Pulitzer Prizes: 1985, for its photographic coverage of the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles; 1989, Edward Humes for his reporting on U.S. military problems with night-vision goggles; and 1996, for an investigation into Ricardo Asch's fertility clinics.
