Made in 1894, the fountain served as an oasis for parched horses to drink from. Around the time construction of the post office began, the fountain was moved to Campbell Park on Main Street, across from the Catholic Church and used as a decoration. Somewhere between then and now, the lamps were removed. When downtown was remodeled in the latter half of the 1980's, the fountain was moved once again, this time to the northeast corner of Clifton and Main, about a hundred feet south of it's original location.
