This table overlooks Discovery River, towards Expedition Everest. It's a very popular spot for people to pose and take pictures with the view. The table shows the Himalaya Range, plus "Forbidden Mountain", a fictional mountain where the "Expedition Everest-Legend of the Forbidden Mountain" ride is located.
This is a fun find, because it's like being transported to the Himalayas, while still being in sunny Florida. It gives you an idea of how tall some of the tallest mountains in the world are (while standing in one of the flattest places!). Since this view isn't of the true Himalayas, I'm including links to an informational page for each of the mountains represented here (of course, Forbidden Mountain is only in Disney World), so you can read about them. The elevations are the correct elevations of the real mountains in the Himalayas, although obviously incorrect for this Disney reproduction.
Places listed on the table:
Chomolhari - 24,040 ft / 7,319 m.
"Destination of a yearly 10 mile procession from the town of Phari Dzong."
Siguniang - 20,505 ft. / 6,250 m.
"The 'Four Sisters' mountain."
Mount Everest [Chomolungma] - 29,035 ft. / 8,848 m.
"Highest mountain in the world."
Forbidden Mountain - 20,154 ft. / 6,143 m.
"Legendary home of the Yeti."
Annapurna II - 26040 ft. / 7,937 m.
"'Goddess of the Harvests'"
K2 - 28,250 ft. / 8611 m.
"2nd highest mountain in the world."
Kailash - 22,022 ft. / 6714 m.
"Sacred destination of pilgrims for thousands of years."
