The "new" high school in Salinas was constructed in 1920.

This classic building was built to replace the "old" high school which was established in 1882. Although the population of Salinas was only about 4300 total in 1920, the community passed a bond for $4 million, and built a landmark which remains in use today. Of course, it has been modernized some in the intervening years, but the main building is still the same.
