The historical marker located on the grounds of the courthouse say that New London is renowned for it's handsome courthouse. Considering the typical architecture of Missouri Courthouses, it is unique. It is only one of three surviving of greek revival architecture in Missouri.
The county celebrated the Sesquicentennial Celebration on July 26, 2008, with a marker located on the outside of the building.
