John T. Milliken (1852-1919) was the founder of Milliken Chemical Company which was later sold to Abbott Laboratories. Along with Mr. Milliken, his wife May Patrick is also entombed in this mausoleum. The mausoleum's design is based on a classic Greek temple. The mausoleum features Doric columns like those used in ancient temples.
History: John T. Milliken and May Patrick Milliken are interred in this beautiful memorial based on the design of a classic Greek temple. Note the graceful Doric columns such as found on the Parthenon in Athens. A successful oil man, Mr. Milliken also founded the Milliken Chemical Company later sold to Abbott Laboratories of Chicago.
