These two cannons are on permanent display bookending the Civil War Monument. The monument was dedicated in 1887 by William McKinley.
The engraving on the monument is as follows:
POLAND
Honors Her Sons
Who Died In The War For The Union
1861-5
This monument is hidden away in the Poland Riverside Cemetery. I found it on accident while looking for a nice place to make a Wherigo Geocache.
You can drive through the cemetery all the way to the monument.
I found very little about this monument on line.
I hope you enjoy this Waymark.
