The Hensleys, after whom the Pinnaroo Fountain is named, were the first pastoralists to sink wells, make bullock tracks and erect fences throughout the northern part of Ngarkat. They held Pinnaroo Station from 1878 to about 1888.
Due to the continuing drought in South Australia most fountains have had their water turned off, therefore it was a nice surprise to see this fountain running, albeit at a trickle, on my visit to take a photo for this waymark.
