The Gazebo was erected in 1922 and is made of wood with a galvanised roof. In the past it had a replica aircraft on the roof! This was a replica of the Allies' First Fighter from WW1 and was made by Dan Farrell in 1922. A ramp leads up to the gazebo making it fully wheelchair accessible. It is surrounded by beautiful lawns and garden beds and is located opposite a lovely old pub. It is painted in green and yellow - considered by many to be the traditional Australian colours. The floor of the structure and the ramp are paved.
Pinnaroo Brass Band formed in 1910 and the band rotunda was built in 1922. It was originally located in the Soldiers Memorial Park. The band would play in the rotunda which at that time had a basement underneath that was used as a band room, storage and music library. During the war years, the brass band went into recess. It reformed briefly after the war, but had ceased to play by 1955. When the swimming pool was built in 1957, the rotunda or gazebo was shifted to the sports ground, where it was used as a drinks pavilion during show days. Local builder Robert Venning moved it to its present site and restored the structure. (Source "Mallee Tracks" by Jill Nickolls and Ann Angel.)
